John W. Smith Custom Knife 2007 AKI Sole Authorship Sunburst Linerlock

John W. Smith is in my opinion the best all around custom knife maker in the industry. He does it all from Engraving, Gold inlay work to forging his own Damascus. This handsome "Sunburst" Linerlock features John W. Smith's Sole Authorship Damascus, Engraving and 24Kt Gold inlays. This knife was featured at the 2007 AKI (Art Knife Invitational) Show. There are only 25 knifemakers whose work is deemed worthy enough to be a member of the AKI.

The Sunburst pattern has alternating Blacklip Pearl and Mother of Pearl shell which are divided with a thin 24Kt Gold inlays. John W. Smith has signed the knife with a 24Kt Gold inlay and has inlayed 24Kt Gold along its spine. He finished the knife with fileworked liners, spine and a 14 Kt gold thumbstud with a diamond set in it.
