Jim Schmidt & Dellana Collaboration Custom Knife “Dark Mist” Lockback Dagger

Dellana is a protege' of Jim Schmidt's. This is the second of five knives that were in various stages of completion at the time of Jim Schmidt's death. Linda Schmidt, Jim's wife, asked Dellana to complete them. This masterpiece was complete by Dellana in 2012. It is signed in the inside of the 14Kt Gold liner Schmidt/Dellana "Dark Mist" 1/11/12 #2 14K.

Jim Schmidt forged, symmetrical ground and drilled the Damascus blade. Jim's Damascus bolsters were made and ready to be soldered onto liners and drilled. Jim also hand picked the Black Lip Tahitian Pearl shell for this knife (as a knife maker, you have to have that to make the pattern accurately). Dellana assembled and finished the knife, including the filework. All the materials were Jim Schmidt's, including the 14Kt Gold.
