Bill Moran Custom Knife Lime Kiln Upswept Skinner with Brass Thumb Guard and Amber Stag
Bill Moran's was a pioneering American knifemaker who founded the American Bladesmith Society and reintroduced the process of making pattern welded steel to modern knife making. Moran's knives were sought after by celebrities and heads-of-state. The "William F. Moran School of Bladesmithing" bears his name and in addition to founding the ABS "American Blade Smith Society", he was a Blade Magazine Hall of Fame Member and a President of the Knifemakers' Guild. This knife was forged in Lime Kilm, Maryland prior to 1973. It has a 4 1/2" blade and is 9 1/16" OAL with an Amber Stag Handle. The knife is complete with a "Man in the moon" leather sheath, Brass thumb ramp, guard and butt cap.
The knife has light pitting areas on the blade and is in original condition. It has been priced accordingly with a reflection of its condition.
