Anders Hogstrom Custom Knife Damasteel & Lightning Strike Carbon Fiber KingPin Linerlock

This knife was designed by Anders Hogstrom to be a fully functional and useful artistic expression. He wanted to make something that is as beautiful closed as it is open, within the tight tolerances his fixed bladed work is known for.

There are many fine folders being produced today and it was important to him to make something that relates to Anders as a maker, with his solutions/shapes/angles and language-of-design-. "Good is just not good enough, it had to be more than that and actually "say" something- I feel that my many and long hours both with the sketch pad and work bench paid off".

The blade, backbar and pocket clip is of Damasteel stainless Damascus. Since Anders Hogstrom is well known for his use of bronze, he wanted to incorporate that somehow and in this piece. He chose Lightening Strike Carbon Fiber with its bronze threads in-bedded in the material as well as anodizing the Titanium liners in an aged bronze tone. The washers are, of course, also bronze.

All work is done by hand/hand held operations and no milling machines, cnc's, lathes, jiggs or surface grinders were used. Anders Hogstrom intend to make groups of 3 of the KingPin design but not the same exact knife twice, all will be embellished in different ways as this fuels his creativity and gives the collector a truly unique item that they can be sure no one else will have the exact same copy of.
