Damascus Steel, and what it is? Damascus Steel is described as two or more steels combined, heated, forged, cut, stacked and reforged to produce an intricate pattern. Each style of Damascus Steel has it’s own unique features that set it apart from any other steels. Typically, Damascus Steel is made from layers of Carbon Steel and Nickel Steel, however, with the addition of certain gasses to the heating process, Stainless Steel can be used. For more intricate designs like the Cliff Parker Mosaic Damascus, Powdered Steel is used.
