Dan Burke Custom Knife Two Bladed Sea Snail Shell Slipjoint Folder

In 1976, Dan Burke sold his first custom knife. He has become famous for his traditional style slip joint folders which have become very collectable, currently a collector will have to wait several years to obtain a Dan Burke folder.
Due to the high demand for his knives and his extremely long back log of orders, Dan is no longer accepting knife orders.

This is Dan Burke's Serpentine model 24. The large blade measures 1 5/8", and the small blade is a little bit over 1" in length. The grooved, integral side plates have beautiful, expensive, and hard to get Sea Snail inlays, which are fileworked on both sides. (I was unable to capture the opalesence, color and beauty of the Sea Snail Shell in the pictures) Both blades have the half stop position. A real gem from a knife maker who is sold out for years and will no longer take orders for his knives.
