By placing an order the buyer represents that he or she is of legal age and that the products ordered will be used in a lawful manner.  KnifePurveyor Inc. assumes no responsibility for any harm or injury resulting from the sale, trade, use, or handling of any product purchased from us.

It is the responsibility of the buyer, not the seller, to ascertain and obey all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws in regard to the possession, and or use, of any item purchased from KnifePurveyor Inc.

It is also the responsibility of the buyer to pay all duties, taxes, and fees associated with importing purchases from KnifePurveyor Inc. 

Please note that we will NOT falsify customs documents. We will list exact items and exact values, in accordance with national and federal laws. If you believe that your items will be seized at customs when labeled appropriately, we urge you to carefully consider this.

We are unable to provide refunds in the event a shipment is seized by customs or other agencies.  Consult your local, state, federal and international laws before ordering if you are in doubt.

At times, International Buyers provide us an address for their order to be shipped to within the United States. In these instances, KnifePurveyor Inc.’s shipping liability terminates upon delivery of the ordered item(s) to the shipping address provided by the buyer.  Please ensure that you enter the correct shipping address when placing your order.

Order Agreement:  

Once your submitted order has been received we will contact you regarding the availability of the item(s).  The total cost will include the shipping and handling charges, sale tax (when applicable) and (Optional) insurance charges.

For your peace of mind, we strongly recommend adding shipping insurance to your order.  This ensures you’re fully covered in the unlikely event that your package is lost, damaged, mis-delivered or stolen.

In order for the shipment to be insured, a signature is required upon delivery.

If you choose to decline coverage, please note that you are assuming the risk and that you’ll be responsible for the items once they leave our office.  You can protect your entire shipment for just 2% of the subtotal value of the items being purchased.

Payment Options:

We accept Personal Checks, Business Checks, Certified Checks, PayPal (a 5% Processing Fee will be added to your order total when paying via PayPal), Zelle, Venmo, Wire Transfers, United States Postal Money Orders and Western Union payments.  Personal checks may take up to 10 business days to clear before the item(s) are shipped.  We do not accept Credit Card Payments nor do we accept PayPal “Friends and Family”.

Layaway Program:

For your convenience, we offer a Layaway program with No Fees, No Interest, and No Penalty for early payoff.  The following are the terms:

1.  We accept the Payment Options Listed Above. 

2.  Layaway Payments are non-transferrable and non-refundable.

3.  The total cost will be divided into 4 payments of the total selling price.  The initial payment will be due/paid at the time of purchase, and will include applicable sales tax, shipping fees and insurance charges.

4.  Thereafter, 3 equal payments of Twenty Five percent (25%) are due thirty (30) days apart with the balance due before ninety (90) days have elapsed.  A payment schedule will be provided upon purchase.

5.  It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure payments are made/received on time.

6.  You may pay in full at any time prior to the 90-day payment schedule.  With no early pay off penalties.

7.  Failure to make the payments within the structured time period may result in forfeiture of deposits and the knife will be relisted for sale.

8.  All Layaway sales are final.

Disclaimer of Warranty:

Knifepurveyor Inc. makes no representations or warranties of any kind.  As long as the knives are used properly; and the maker is still making knives, most knife makers guarantee their work. Natural handle materials such as wood, stag, mammoth, pearl and bone are not covered by the knife makers’ guarantee. These natural materials may crack, discolor or shrink due to a change in age, humidity or temperature.

Damage or Discrepancy in Shipments:
Complete customer satisfaction is our goal with every purchase made with us.  Each knife is carefully inspected and securely packed prior to shipping.  If there are any problems with your order, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt at (919) 295-1283.

KnifePurveyor Inc. will not be responsible for any claims made after 48 hours.  For insurance purposes in the instance where damage has occurred during delivery, please retain the entire package and its contents as well as the original packing materials for future inspection by the carrier.  Kindly email photographs of the damaged packaging and of the damage done to the item to (info@knifepurveyor.com).

Consigning Your Knives:

Acknowledging that collector’s tastes change we offer a consignment resale program to meet our clients needs.  Consignment knives need to be in new and unused condition.

Knives on consignment must be held by KnifePurveyor.com Inc. when listed on our website.  They must also be priced competitively based on the condition and current market value.

When a consignor ships a knife or knives to KnifePurveyor Inc. they agree to give permission to KnifePurveyor Inc. to sell and store their knife or knives.  When shipping a knife to KnifePurveyor Inc., please ship it FedEx Standard Overnight -OR- 2nd Day via FedEx with a signature required upon delivery. KnifePurveyor Inc. assumes no responsibility for knives that are shipped without a signature required upon delivery.

A KnifePurveyor Inc.  Consignment Agreement  signed by the consignor must be in KnifePurveyor Inc. possession before the consignor ships his or her knives to KnifePurveyor Inc.  KnifePurveyor is not responsible for consignment knives that are not covered under a consignment agreement.

Consignment knives carry an upfront fee of $50.00 per knife plus 25% commission of the knife’s selling price.  The $50 listing fee covers the photography, market analysis, insurance and the listing process.

If you choose to use the proceeds from the consignment sales to purchase another knife from KnifePurveyor Inc., the fee for the commission will be adjusted to 22%.  In the instance where a consignor who initially agreed to spend the proceeds back with KnifePurveyor Inc. changes his mind then the commission reverts back to 25%.  Typical processing time to list your knives live on the website is 4 weeks from receipt.

Payouts from consignment knife sales are processed through  Bank of America Bill Pay at the end of the month that the sale was finalized on.  A paper check is snail-mailed from Bank of America to the address on your consignment agreement.  Typically this process takes anywhere from 10 to 14 days to receive the check. The check will arrive in an envelope with “Payment Enclosed” printed on it.  This may look like a solicitation, please do not discard it for it is your payment!

KnifePurveyor Inc. assumes no liability for knives that have not been packed properly according to KnifePurveyor Inc.’s shipping instructions.

At KnifePurveyor Inc. we meticulously inspect each knife prior to offering it for sale. Due to our high standards, not all of the knives we receive will be accepted for consignment. During the knife consignment inspection process, KnifePurveyor Inc. reserves the right to deny acceptance of any knife for any reason.

Knives that do not meet our standards will be returned to the consignor.  They will be fully insured for the value of the knives via FedEx with a signature required upon delivery (unless otherwise specified) at the consignor’s expense.  A handling and process fee will also be charged on all returned knives.  Knives will only be returned after the return payment fees have been received by KnifePurveyor Inc.

Concierge On‑Site Consulting & Retrieval Service:

We take customer service to a whole other level. Occasionally we must fly out to assist collectors with their custom knife collections. This concierge‑style service is offered on an à la carte basis to provide in‑person inspection, consultation, documentation, exit strategy, packing, and, if requested, retrieval for transport and consignment in the United States.

Fees & Client Responsibilities

  • Service Fee: daily rate as quoted and confirmed at booking.
  • Travel & Accommodations: client is responsible for return airfare and all lodging costs.
  • Shipping & Handling: client is responsible for shipping, packing, and any local transport or handling fees.
  • Import/Export: client is responsible for all export/import costs, customs duties, taxes, and customs broker/clearance fees.
  • Consignment Listing Fee: $50 per knife (charged upfront upon intake/listing).
  • Consignment Commission: 25% standard commission on realized selling price unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Expenses include, but are not limited to, return airfare, shipping, hotel, and the standard consignment expenses when consigning knives for collectors.

Booking & Confirmation

  • Service is provided only after written acceptance of the quoted daily rate and acknowledgment of client responsibility for travel and related expenses (email confirmation acceptable).
  • Trip dates will be scheduled after receipt of client confirmation. Changes or cancellations by the client will incur fees as described in the booking confirmation.

Consignment & Insurance

  • All knives accepted for consignment are subject to the company’s standard consignment agreement (commission, reserves, payment terms, insurance, and sale procedures).
  • Items remain the client’s property until sold; insurance during transit and storage will be arranged as specified in the consignment agreement and may be charged to the client.

Liability & Compliance

  • Client must provide required export/import documentation and confirm legal ownership and right to export.
  • The company is not responsible for delays, seizures, or additional costs arising from customs inspections, prohibited item restrictions, or changes in import/export law; such costs remain the client’s responsibility.

Trade in Policy:

Trading knives is another option which will allow our collectors to upgrade their collection.  If you are interested in trading a knife please e-mail us a picture, its specs, its estimated value and the knife which has piqued your trade interest.

Each trade will be individually assessed and evaluated.  Unfortunately, due to the complexity of trading knives, not all trade offers will come to fruition.

Return Policy:

As collectors, we know that there is nothing like holding a knife in your hand prior to purchasing it.  We meticulously inspect each knife prior to offering it for sale on KnifePurveyor Inc.

You may return any knife (Except “Distressed Sold As Is” condition Knives) purchased from KnifePurveyor Inc. within two (2) days of receipt for a full refund of its purchase price.  Shipping and insurance charges are not refundable.  Merchandise must be returned in the same condition as when it was sold. Items found to be damaged or used will not be accepted or credited for return or exchange.

Distressed Sold As is condition Knives are Non-Refundable.

Please contact us at (919) 295-1283 before returning any items. No exchanges or returns will be accepted after the two (2) day inspection period.

We require that your return shipping include full insurance and signature confirmation.  Please indicate the reason for your return and include the paperwork originally supplied.  Be sure to include the sheath or case and securely package the knife for return.  Knives shipped without a signature required upon delivery are not KnifePurveyor.com’s responsibility.

We are unable to provide refunds in the event that any returns are seized or confiscated by customs or any other agencies.
