Jim Ence Custom Knives Sole Authorship "Starburst" Dagger.
This Art Dagger named the "Starburst Dagger" was made by Jim Ence for the 1991 Knifemaker's Guild Show. It won the best art knife at the guild show and was featured on the cover of "Knives Illustrated" magazine Spring 1992. This knife is also featured on page 35 in Jim Weyer's, "Points of Interest Book V."
The entire creation is a sole authorship work. There are over 6 ounces of gold in the knife and countless hours of labor. The multibar Damascus blade has 24Kt Gold inlays and solid Museum Quality Green to Black Jade set in it. The 5 collumns that connect the blade to the guard are solid gold. Jim Ence carved the gold fittings that surround the green to black jade handle.
Jim Ence was best friends with knife making legend Buster Waresnki and this dagger is considered to be Jim's legacy knife.
